What if the biggest miracle you could ever experience starts in your own mind?
According to Rahul Karan Sharma — dynamic leader, author, and creator of Habits4Miracles — one of the greatest weapons we have in life is our mind. Our thoughts have the power to shape our feelings, influence our responses, and ultimately determine the direction of our lives.
In a soulful conversation on Mirror Talk: Soulful Conversations, Rahul explains why mindset shifts are the foundation of personal and professional transformation. He shares how practices like Mind Talk — intentionally reframing our inner conversations — can help us cultivate resilience, courage, and positivity.
🌟 The MIRACLE Framework
In his book Habits for Miracles, Rahul introduces the MIRACLE acronym as a roadmap for creating powerful habits that lead to extraordinary results.
Here’s how you can apply it:
M – Mind Talk
The difference between success and failure often lies in positive mind talk, or self-talk. By reshaping our thoughts to keep our brains in happy mode, we can experience longer-lasting joy and reduced worry. Since our subconscious mind cannot differentiate between reality and imagination, revisiting positive experiences in our thoughts can be just as impactful as when they occurred. Engage in mind-talk using your name rather than ‘I’ to boost self-confidence and self-esteem (though perhaps not during meetings).
I – Ideation
Mind talk can lead to new ideas, but ideas without execution are fruitless. Take note of your thoughts when they arise, as writing down your ideas will lead to even more inspiration. Transform your fleeting thoughts into actionable concepts by journaling and reflecting on them.
R – Reading
Invest time in reading five pages a day to expand your knowledge and explore new subjects. This practice will help you learn about specific topics and positively change your brain structure. Reading is a powerful antidote to mindless phone scrolling.
A – Analysis
After executing your ideas, analyse the results through introspection. Consider your feelings, what you would do differently, and what you would repeat. Nelson Mandela said, “I never lose – I either win or learn.” Analysing our actions helps us learn and grow from our experiences.
C – Calmness
Panic seldom improves a situation, but it can feel inevitable during challenges. To combat panic, remind yourself of previous successes in similar circumstances using mind talk. Tell yourself, “You got this, [insert your name].”
L – Listening
While listening to others is crucial in communication and conflict resolution, it is also essential to listen to ourselves. Trust your intuition and remember that you are your own best advisor. Take time to listen to your thoughts when making decisions and designing your life.
E – Exercise
Start small – you don’t need to overhaul your schedule or sign up for a marathon. Dedicate five minutes a day to some form of exercise, such as stretching, jumping jacks, or a brisk walk. Any time spent on physical activity is worthwhile and contributes to a positive start to the day.
S – Silence
Our lives are filled with noise, both external and internal. With our brains processing 60,000 to 80,000 thoughts daily, finding five minutes of uninterrupted silence can profoundly affect our mental and physical health.
🌱 Overcoming Obstacles to Habits
Habit formation is not always easy. We often face:
- Distractions that pull us away from what matters
- Self-doubt that whispers we are not good enough
- Fear of failure that keeps us stuck in inaction
Rahul emphasises that overcoming these requires awareness and persistence. By practising Mind Talk, choosing empowering beliefs, and leaning into consistency, we can replace obstacles with unstoppable momentum.
🔑 Five Steps for Consistent Action
Before leaving the conversation, Rahul offered five practical steps we can all take to move toward our dreams today:
- Clarify your vision – Know what you want and why it matters.
- Break it down – Start with small, achievable steps.
- Create a routine – Build structure around your goals.
- Stay accountable – Share your journey with someone you trust.
- Celebrate progress – Acknowledge and reward your wins, no matter how small.
✨ Final Thought
Your thoughts matter. Your habits matter. And with the right mindset and daily practices, you can create miracles in every area of your life.
