Have you ever found yourself staring into space, asking⌠âWhat happened to me?â
Or maybe you looked at someone you used to know and wondered, âWhat happened to us?â
Itâs a haunting question. A sacred one. And it deserves more than a rushed answer.
đ Life Comes in Phases
Just like nature, our lives are designed in seasonsâeach one serving a unique purpose.
đ¸ Spring is for beginnings, blooming dreams, and new relationships.
âď¸ Summer is about momentum, purpose, and productivity.
đ Autumn invites us to reflect, prune, and prepare.
âď¸ Winter teaches us stillness, solitude, and surrender.
The problem? We often try to force summer energy in a winter season. We compare timelines, chase what others have, and lose sight of whatâs unfolding within us.
As Ecclesiastes 3:1 says:
âTo everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven.â
Your soul knows your season, even if your mind doesn’t.
đ¤ď¸ What Really Happened?
Often, when we ask âwhat happened to us?â weâre really asking:
- When did I stop being myself?
- Why did I settle?
- Why did I stay silent when I shouldâve spoken up?
- Why did I choose fear over truth?
And the answer? We made decisions. Some wise. Some painful. Some born out of fear. Others out of necessity.
But those choices shaped our path.
In Deuteronomy 30:19, weâre reminded:
âI have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose lifeâŚâ
Every decision is a seed.
And though we canât go back and change what we planted⌠we can choose what we water going forward.
đż You Are Not What Happened to You
Thereâs a Japanese art form called Kintsugi, where broken pottery is mended with gold. The cracks donât get hiddenâthey become the most beautiful part of the vessel.
The same is true for your life. The cracks are where your light enters.
What happened to you does not define you. What happens through youâhow you respond, how you grow, how you healâdoes.
A woman I once spoke to had buried dreams under motherhood and loss. But in her 60s, she started painting again. She said, âItâs not too late to become what I was always meant to be.â
Let that be your truth, too.
đŻ Conscious Living: Itâs Not Too Late
Living with intention doesnât mean perfectionâit means paying attention.
Ask yourself:
- What am I choosing every day, even unconsciously?
- What decisions am I avoiding that could realign my soul?
- What season am I inâand whatâs it asking of me?
Choosing consciousness over convenience is where your transformation begins.
đđž A Gentle Prayer
God of time and transformation, remind us that You are present in every season of our livesâeven the ones we donât understand. Give us the wisdom to choose life, the grace to let go of whatâs gone, and the courage to make decisions that reflect who we are becoming. Amen.
đŞ Reflection Prompts for You:
- What season of life am I currently in?
- Where have I been living on autopilot?
- What needs to be surrendered, pruned, or embraced?
- What decision is calling me toward alignment and growth?
đŹ Final Thought
Dear reader, maybe what happened to you wasnât your fault.
But what happens next? Thatâs where your power lives.
Youâre still here. Still healing. Still unfolding.
Let the question âWhat happened to us?â lead you not to regret, but to reconnection, realignment, and rebirth.
Because itâs not too late.
